People that have a disability but are ineligible for the NDIS would continue receiving disability support services throughout Sydney under what they were already receiving from the territory, state, or Commonwealth government. Individuals can apply for NDIS access 6 months before the scheme rolls out in their area. How Does the NDIS Fund Disability Services? The Australian government and the territories and states jointly fund and govern the NDIS. Former and current disability support services offered by territory and state governments are replaced by the scheme. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) of the Australian Government runs the NDIS. However, the NDIS replaces all territory and state government schemes. The rollout will take place at different times throughout the country. There are certain differences in the scheme depending on the territory and state.
